Ice Cream for Dogs: Enjoy a Cool Summer Treat!

That’s Right! Ice Cream for Dogs!!!

Who doesn’t love ice cream? Studies show that people who consume ice cream on hot days are more productive and generally cooler. Kidding! It’s just a great treat and on a hot day, and that can be just the ticket! It got us thinking – wouldn’t our dogs enjoy taking part in this ritual too? We asked them and the answer sounded close enough to “yes,” so we went out in search of a delicious recipe for all natural ice cream for dogs. The reviews were all stellar, as Hippy-Shake will attest to in the video below.

Now, the nice thing about this recipe for Ice Cream for dogs is that it’s safe for humans to eat too! It definitely lacks the sweetness of our own ice cream, but it’s healthier for you because of that. So the next heat wave, grab your 4 simple ingredients and your best canine buddy. Hopefully, they will be willing to share the deliciousness with you. You may want your own bowl though…

Recipe for Ice Cream for Dogs

Want to try your hand at making Ice Cream for Dogs? It’s pretty easy. With only 4 ingredients, even the least adept chefs can churn up some fun for their four-leggers!

  • 2 Cups Pumpkin Puree (be sure it’s not pumpkin pie filling as this adds a lot of unwanted sugar)
  • 2 Cups All Natural Greek Yogurt (make sure it is unsweetened since some sweeteners are toxic for dogs i.e. Xylitol)
  • 1 Ripe Banana
  • 2 Tablespoons of All Natural Peanut Butter (no added sugar or salt)

This is a good basic recipe. You could play with flavours and provide some variety. Most berries and fruits in small portion can be safely enjoyed by dogs. Be aware that chocolate and coffee are toxic and should never be given to canines.
