• Grade 2 was great and it has helped my dog to become more social as he is a shy dog. I took Grade 1 and thought it was fun, Grade 2 was even better. I enjoyed myself as well as my dog. I would recommend this course to others as I have and the friends that have signed up also find it very rewarding. I took the course ten years ago, both one and two. I have taken it again and learned new techniques and some new hints. My instructors were great and I would sign up with them again. They were very helpful and positive.
  • I am pleased with Shadows progress and it makes us all a happier family. She fits in and is enjoyed by all. We have had to use the "Come" command a couple of times. One time I was backing up my truck coming home from work. I didn't see her come out of the garage, but she wanted to see me and came running. My 8-year-old son said, "Shadow COME" and she returned to him and sat in front of him just as she had learned.
  • I have had more compliments on Kiley's behaviour since I started training with her. I recently went to a house party, and she was so good! There were plates of food out and she listened to me and didn't jump up. She is also a lot better on walks and when greeting people. She has learned to sit at crosswalks with the exercises we have learned in class.
  • Brogan is my third Rottweiler that I've trained at McCann's. I am as impressed now as I was back then and have noticed a few positive changes in the training methods. The head instructor is always positive, fun and professional. The floor instructors have also been helpful and positive. When I go for walks with my two Rottweilers, many people comment on how well behaved; trained they are and I always say that it's all due to attending McCann Dog School. Chelsea (my rescued female - 6 yrs) only went to Grade 1, but for the past 4 years has been a Therapy Dog with St. John's Ambulance. I am so proud of her and again promote McCann's for gaining her trust and helping me train her kindly. Brogan too, is proving to be a special, gently boy and hopefully we will do awesome things to promote his breed.
  • I've loved being here with Winslow and have the highest regard for the McCann staff. Everywhere we go, everone comments on how well behaved he is and I attribute that to these classes. I'm planning to do Pet Therapy with Winslow and he's scheduled for his testing in November with St. John's Ambulance. Many thanks to all of you.

  • Grade 2 has been so much fun! I had doubts in the beginning but with daily practice, Casey has improved so much in many of the exercises.

Instructors model happy ways to interact with your dog while training. Your method of training us has made me feel more confident and capable.   • A very well put together program. Every dog and every owner is treated with respect. The staff go 'that extra mile' (and more) to help you with your dog. They are open, non-judgemental and very easy to talk to. I'm extremely happy with the progress Shiloh and I have made. We'll be back in the fall.

  • McCann's is a great place to train your dog. Having problems with my hands & neck, I really appreciate being able to walk and control my dog with no need for a leash. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They love dogs and it shows. I have recommended McCann's to all puppy owners we meet.

  • On walks, he would be looking around, sniffing, etc. and choose to ignore me and never checked in with me. He's now 2 and we just finished Grade 2 and he has improved so much -- He listens for me, looks to me for commands, stays focused on me and seems to respect me. "School" has been great for us - it has definitely changed our relationship. Thanks to all at McCann's. The instructors were so enthusiastic, you wanted to come to class to learn more. Everyone at McCann's is very helpful! If there was a situation, they were there quick to help. If there were questions, you got answers. If you had a problem, they were there.   • I noticed a large improvement in Jake in many exercise, but also with respect to his attention toward me, and his willingness to work to please me. I got him when he was 11 months, so he didn't grow up with me, and I found he was comfortable doing his own thing.

  • Max and I took part in Head Start and Grades 1 & 2. As a result, we have formed a strong bond. These skills are the foundation of a good dog and will continue to be used throughout the dog's life. Some of these skills are potential life saving skills.   • We have enjoyed McCann's training for several months now, right from Head Start class. I have to say it was money well spent. Our Golden Retriever, Cooper is very well behaved and loving 8-month-old puppy. Strangers have commented on his behaviour and I say with pride that he's in Grade 2 at McCann's. I have to tell you though, Head Start was the best class for someone that has never owned a puppy. I always recommend this class at least, for people who can't afford long term training, but as you can tell, being in grade 2, we have had a great time watching how smart Cooper is. Once we figured out what we were doing we all had fun!!
  • Not only are all of the instructors excellent, it amazes me their wonderful memories - with the number of classes and participants they teach every week, they always remember not only the dog's name, but the owner as well!
  • The instructors were consistently pleasant and positive. The class was fun because they did not put a lot of pressure on the poor human beings who were training them. John's laid back manner also helped to keep the dogs comfortable and at ease.
